1. Update your virus definitions manually. You must have the very latest definitions installed.

2. Enable
Show Hidden Files.
3. Boot into
Safe Mode and run a full system scan with your anti-virus app (nothing else running). Before deleting all infections found, if any, write down their names.
4. Boot back into Windows.
Go to your AV manufacturer's online support page and search for their article on each virus or Trojan. If there are additional removal instructions in the article, follow them to the letter. If the instructions direct you disable System Restore, please don't! Instead...
WinXP only:If you found and deleted anything in the scan, create a new Restore Point then:Disk Cleanup > More Options > Delete all but the most recent Restore Point

5. If problems persist, scan again with HT and save the log.
6. Post your new log, along with the names of the files found in your AV scan, to your thread.
