Hello
Last week a neighbour asked for assistance in upgrading his security suite on his PC. I did some
research and settled on Internet Security as a solution. His PC i sabout 5 years old running XP + SP2

He bought a copy of Internet Security 2009/ 3 user/ 2 year and I offered to install it for him.

Having uninstalled the previous security and launching the CD, I was given a message there was a newer version and asked
if I wanted to download that. I agreed and did so, then installed IS 2010. Registration and validation was completed.

However, on reboot, my friend cannot access his mail. The internet works fine and he can browse the bet via Internet Explorer but
if he tries to access his Webmail here:

http://www.bigpond.com/home/

the strangest thing happens. The mailbox starts loading as usual then the body of t e page goes blank, IE indicates "Done" on the
bottom left hand corner and IE freezes. To exit IE I have to Control/Alt/Delete. I have tried several times, re-booted, played about with settings - all to
no avail. I also get an Error Message from BitDefender .

Having done some research since, I see mail seems to be an issue sometimes. I tried accessing Webmail with IS turned off, but there is no option
to disable it.

Is anyone able to please advise how to rectify this issue? Not sure whether to uninstall and reinstall 10, or install 9 or just try a different suite.

Many thanks

What anti-virus application was installed before you installed BitDefender 2010 and was the subscription still current?

Have you posted about the problem here? => http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showforum=190

Previously it had MacFee Internet Security on it and it had expired. I uninstalled via Control Panel and re-booted before starting afresh.

Yes, that is my post but having looked through that particular forum which appears to be manned by support staff from BD since, seeking a response seems to be more a case of hope over experience ... there appear to be quite a few unhappy campers there.

I posted here because I know you guys are responsive and knowledgeable and unbiased - if I overstepped the mark, I apologise. Given a choice of one or the other I would have posted here every time!

Thanks

Not good. More about this later, if need be.

Yes, that is my post but...
I'd posted a link to the BitDefender 2010-specific forum, not a particular thread.

Now I see that you did post there (roughly 2 hours after you posted here): http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php? ... opic=16501

Thanks for the compliment but check your thread in the BitDefender forum as a BitDefender tech's posted a reply.
