PROGRAM NAME: AutoSurf
PROGRAM AUTHOR: Kourosh Tari
PROGRAM URL: http://www.uwad.com/Software/autosurf1.html
WORKS WITH THESE OS's: All

DESCRIPTION of AutoSurf
There are many ways to drive traffic to your site. One of the best and fastest growing techniques is called Traffic Exchange. In this technique you generate hits for another web site(s) and your web site will receive hits from others. In order to build a solid base traffic exchange, without going through all the technical difficulties and confusions, you need to have AutoSurf.

QUESTIONS:
(1) Why would you drive blind users to a site they may not go?
(2) Is this a legit way to drive traffic?
(3) If legit, why doesen't everyone use this cure-of-a-solution?

For the record: Remember, this isn't my recommendation. I'm posting a site visitor's recommendation. I have done no looking/screening of this whatsoever. It's approach (from what you've written) probably has no relationship to my own practices on this site.

Having said that, and to give an answer to your question: Anything for an advantage, eh? Sites that are having difficulty getting hits are able to expand their visibility by generating hits, so the site owners have a motivation to do something like this. (That is neither an endorsement nor a condemnation of the practice - as a consumer I have my own opinions.)

I understand. Just a bit suspecious of a thing when it sounds too good or is promised to act as a cure-like solution. Myself, have not used it. These are my preliminary thoughts on the subject at hand. I'd like to make a web site, as you know from my other post, and so am mentally preparing for that task--mentally weeding out what will and what will not be part of the process and the end-product. 'Tis a quest in progress.

The best way to drive traffic to your site is your content and if it isn't what a user is after then they won't be back. The other way I see is word of mouth that if it trickles through the Internet via an email from a friend and or a simple suggestion to visit this site in a chatroom. I do normally post Aumha as a place to go and I also have others whom have my site on their sites that they know what I have is valid in what I say. My main site little over 2,000 hits I thought would be a hit but suprisingly it isn't but the webcam site I have is lol. It is closing on 13,000 hits which doesn't seem much to Jim or others but it's the content within it. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that program isn't used to find my site at all. Most of the hits are out of Google and Yahoo itself with hits from friends websites.

I agree there. Solid content and word of mouth.

As far as I know, ANY innatural way of driving traffic to a site may lead to punishment from search engines and sometimes even exclusion from search index.

mrLenin's "7 ways..." must work.

I vote with "Skelator".

It is kind of like "Field of Dreams": "If you build it, they will come."

one site refers other site and other site refers other sites
and advt is everywhere, is'nt it?
